About Hilios

Two brothers by the name of Patrick and Virgilio Suazo started out in the marine industry because their grandfather would take them to work and teach them rather then drop them off at the babysitters. I remember telling my father about making a wire with this plastic that got smaller when I put the hair dryer to it says Virgilio. He later explained that he had no clue he was making terminal blocks for a navigation system at the age of 7. With his grandfather’s supervision of course. Following their family footsteps both brothers continued into the marine industry contracting for various projects.

In 2008 Virgilio start a 50/50 partnership in a company called Skylink Tek, basically a bandwidth broker company for Satellite Internet and IT services. Virgilio started Hilios LLC in 2011 as a technical service provider for marine antenna systems and onboard networks. Providing this service as a subcontractor helped compliment both venues. Throughout the years Hilios sub-contracted for numerous companies servicing private and commercial vessels of all kinds. In 2015 Virgilio’s partner in Skylink Tek decided to retire from the industry and parted ways and Virgilio refocused to continue to grow Hilios LLC.

Hilios continues to offer support on legacy marine antenna like KNS, Orbit and SeaTel just as we always have. In light of the progressive technology in the market, we have kept up with the newer generations of marine antenna systems made by Intellian, Cobham (Sailor/SeaTel), KNS and Orbit. We are capable of fully servicing your antennas onsite or in our shop. In the marine market we currently service private vessels, oil and gas vessels, cruise ships and container ships. We have also started a lease program for vessels that require VSAT antennas based on contract work.

In 2016 Hilios expanded to offer teleport and value added services. Our teleport division can service or overhaul 4 meter, 7 meter and 13 meter earth station antennas. We provide downlinking and uplinking services as well as hosted VSAT networks. Our list of value added services range from hosted servers, and VoIP lines to IPtv service.
